Southern Florida's Miami-Dade county and part of Monroe county, currently served by overlaying Numbering Plan Area Codes 305/786 will, starting next year get a third NPA. The new 645 area code is scheduled to enter service on August 4, 2023.
Some of the locations covered by NPAs 305, 786 and soon to be activated 645: Doral, Hialeah, Homestead, Kendall, Miami, Tamiami as well as the entire Florida Keys area.
Currently, the dialing plan for calls originating within NPAs 305/786 is: 10 digits for local calls and 1+10 digits for toll calls. This same dialing plan will apply after NPA's 645 introduction.
