The Southeastern portion of the New York state (except for New York City) will get a new area code starting next year. The new 329 area code will be overlaid on existing 845 Numbering Plan Area which currently serves cities such as Mahopac, New City, Poughkeepsie, Spring Valley or Woodstock.
The dialing plan for NPA 845 is: 10 digits for local and toll calls inside the Home NPA area (that is between area code 845 phone numbers) and 1+10 digits for local and toll calls dialed to phone numbers outside the Home NPA area. When area code 329 is introduced it too will become part of the Home NPA area.
Area code's 329 in service date: March 24, 2023.
